We were getting so excited. Days with outside play. Walking the dogs in jacketless bliss. Opening all the windows to air out the house. Anxiously awaiting all the green that was popping up in the yard. We have lots of bulbs- about 4 different varieties from what I can tell by looking at the leaves. We know that the bushes along the back fence are lilacs (heaven! I imagine heaven smelling like lilacs, or orange blossoms, but in a way that does nothing to the allergies!) and the bigger of the 2 small trees is covered in pretty white blossoms.
So why was there about a half inch of snow on the ground this morning when we got up??? Why is it only going to get to 35 degrees today? With no possibility of reprieve till the beginning of next week? When we can anticipate more rain ?!?!?! Now I am beginning to understand the reverence that midwesterners have for the weather and why it is such a major topic of conversation.
